Deep House Drums question

Post by mrbeats »

Hi can anyone best advise me how or where to get really nice fat deep kick drums for deep house like you hear on released tracks?
Is it samples I need or could the electribe do it for me?
Thanks.

maybe an electribe could do it but you may be better bouncing layered audio samples, then probably compressing (nyc and ducking)?

What kind of equipment do you already have, and what Electribe do you mean? The EMX has some drum samples built in, and you can mangle them in many different ways, but if they're not what you like for a particular musical style then you may feel somewhat limited. If however you invest in an ESX (the sampling Electribe), you'll only be limited by what you load into it. This might be the direction you want to go, especially if you have a computer and don't need the EMX's monosynth parts.
