That's interesting... Does M50 88 have aftertouch perhaps?
Come on Korg, drop Chinese labor, leave it to... i don't know... consumer product manufacturers, although i don't buy consumer products made in china either.

The 88-key version does not have aftertouch. That's an intentional design decision (probably to keep the costs down) rather than a result of manufacturing.

Perhaps the idea here was to create sufficient distance between the M50 and M3 -- if they had given the M50 any more features, M3 sales would have plummeted. As it is, I suspect that M50 sales have taken a rather large bit out of those of the M3, since the M50 is a very, very impressive "budget knock-off."

M3s i hope are all made in japan? Or keyboards and modules are made in different countries? Like these earplugs i got recently, part Israeli, part Chinese.

China's products have come a long way. People often still associate 'made in china' with rubbish quality, but that's not necessarily true any more. Its just a bad reputation, like Skoda (who now make amazing cars with a lot of high-tech systems involved).

Not saying that Japan's products aren't better, but the M50 being made in china shouldn't really influence your buying decision. It is still manufactured to KORG's designs, which involve whatever braces and brackets and structural supports, etc.

Also, an aftertouch strip may not be expensive to include, but the expensive bit is including another ADC to measure it.

I completely agree with X-trade..!! Chinese are really doing some great innovation.. So praise them guys...

One Q to all: How the aftertouch of M50 works with DAWs if there is no aftertouch strip included??

I tested it on saturday, and IMHO it sounds and feels like it's made in Switzerland (the 88, I didn't even care testing the 61).

then they go and test a CME masterkyboard, and they change their mind:

"rubbish" has some consistence and reliability to it. It always stinks the same way, rather than imposing on you a different problem each time you turn it on.

My Korg M50-61 is made in China?

This explains why on page 261 of the parameter guide manual, there's an image of a SD card with a total size of 15.9M. These chinese folks must have saved for years to afford an SD card with such a lavish amount of storage space.
