PA2X Voice Processing

Post by shahab »

Hi all,

Could anyone please tell me if PA2XPro has the same/better/worse Voice Processing System than PA1XPro? I mean the singer's (mic) voice.

Thanks.

Hi Shahaab

I personally liked the PA1Xpro VP and I must say that I also like the PA2Xpro although it has one less harmony part - I have recorded my daughter with the PA2Xpro VP and the results were excellent.

Cheers

Hi Shahaab

You should be able to figure this out fairly easily from the User Manuals - I'll have a look later for you.

Ok Pete,

I'll also do a crossover checking to see what I'll find out.

Thanks again.

wish the pa800 had some of the thing that the pax1 had like
Real Vibrato

Voice Modeling™ Vibrato is a complex model based on extensive analysis of real singers from all styles of music - it’s not just an LFO.

Inflection Curves

Vocal character is also found in the way singers begin their phrases, scooping or falling into their notes. Voice Modeling Inflection can intelligently identify phrase beginnings, applying user-selected styles.

Glottal

Now you can add extra breathiness, whisper, deep growl and "whiskey and cigarettes" rasp to your voice. These effects are normally associated with vocal damage and are difficult to perform. You just dial up, audition and change at will.

Resonance

Voices depend on the body that sings them for their unique sound. Head, chest and throat resonance all depend on physiology. Our Warp styles cover a range of sounds and colours, letting you dial up a chest tone, dial down a nasal tone -
from the subtle to the dramatic.

Spectral

Physiological differences also give every singer a unique overall EQ applied in the vocal tract. VoicePrismPlus Spectral EQ works the same way! The result? You can dial up a high-boost curve but consonants and esses don’t split your eardrums.
Pitch Correction...
and I would pay for the extra plugin .. and it is just software code so korg could put it in .. and the Chorus Effects for voice in missing .
just can't make a fat voice . Pitch change the tuning of the processed
voice in very small (cent) steps..

So all the features you listed here, they don't come with PA2XPro while they come with PA1XPro; am I right?

IF that's the case, I'll miss the "Inflection Curves"!!!

Korg still did not fix the the Harmony .. Latch on / off .. under the preferences general control on the song play seq1 preferences you can set the harmony track to what you like .. track from 1 to 16 and if you do that the Latch on / off is gray out ,and it will not work ,,,but if you change it back to Global the Latch on/off work again ..Latch should work no matter what you set the tracks or global to ,,, Korg could fix this ,it never from day one . as you can tell Iam mad about this ,, well not to mad . the ownly fix I found it to run a midi cable from out to in , yes make a loop. and set the channels all off but the one I need for harmony , and leave it set to global .were if the latch work I would have to do this stuff.

hey, where you got this link from? I did a search earlier before I start this topic but didn't find it. I own a PA1XPro and the Voice Processor is amazing.. where can I find the same sheet for PA2XPro?
I've been told by Pete that PA1XPro has some more features in terms of Voice Processing; this is back in December 2008 when I bought my PA1XPro and he had his PA2XPro. After that I never thought about the differences until now as I'm thinking of upgrading to PA2XPro due to some benefits of PA2 like the weight the faster loading time at start.

Hi shahab,

The Pa1x pro had a number of vocal modeling extensions which were unlocked if you paid an extra license fee. These functions included pitch correction. None of those "extra license fee" extensions are available on the Pa2x.

There are 4 harmony voices on the Pa2x whereas there were 5 harmony voices on the Pa1x. The capabilities of the harmony parts are about the same as far as I can tell, all the presets from the Pa1x are there on the Pa2x. The Pa2x OS does not have the nice Harmoniser part visibility on the high level menu that I used to like on the Pa1x. You cannot easily mute individual harmony parts from the menu while you are playing/ singing.

There are many things that the Pa2x does better than the Pa1x (discussed in many other threads), but vocal processing capabilities were dumbed down.

Best regards,
Rob

But still very usefull. I use it a lot. And don't need 5 harmonies. Most of the time i use the very common terts above voice. SO just 1 harmony.

Hi Dimitri,

Hope you are well also, been a but busy here recently, catch up by email if you like. Re harmony voices - I was counting the lead part as well, to which EFX can be applied.

Best regards,
Rob
