padKontrol "sketchy pads"

Post by yorolpal »

Two of the pads on my padKontrol have started exhibiting errant behaviour. They will either "stick" in the on position...say if you were triggering a bass note by striking the pad the note would sustain. Or they will trigger intermittently...say if you were triggering some sixteenth notes on a snare only about half would trigger. I am not a hard tapper and have not abused the unit in any way. In fact it sits on my desktop at my project studio and is used primarily to play in drum patterns into my DAW. Is there a DIY solution to either of these issues?? Thanks.

It sounds like the pads may have shifted underneath the casing and are thus mistriggering the contacts. Try grabbing the affected pads by the sides and see if you can kind of move them around a bit until they trigger properly. If that doesn't take care of it, contact your local distributor for further assistance: http://www.korg.co.jp/English/Distributors/index.html

HTH! :)
