I am trying to get the M3 Editor 2.1.0 and the KORG USB Midi Driver 1.0.8 to work with my new Mac Pro.
I connected the M3 via an USB Hub first (and would like to do it again later), but currently I can not get it to work, even when the M3 is directly connected to the Mac.
I always get a new M3 Symbol in the Macs Audio-Midi-Setup after I delete the former one and reconnect the M3.
But the M3 symbol always gets greyed out after a while.
When I start the Editor it says that it did not find an M3.
It seems that the Editor regonizes the M3 when it is connected while the Editor is already running, but after a restart it is gone again.
Firewire is currently not connected, since I want to get the faster USB-MIDI to work first. When Firewire is connected it works, but of course the FW-MIDI-Connection is unusable slow.
Any ideas what I could try to get it to work?
Is it possible to remove the complete driver and reinstall it?
M3 Editor does not recognize M3 on USB

Thank's for the tips.
I already tried both of them, but only with temporary effect.
Seems that the USB-driver always gets inactive as soon as possible.
Maybe I'll try some more cables, but I think I have to find out why the device is in the MIDI setup, but deactivated (if that greyed out display status means that). I will also install the KARMA software soon and check if it suffers the same problem or if the editor itself has something to do with the effect. Maybe I'll also post the problem in the KARMA forum if I can not find a solution for myself.

Hi Lone Star,
I guess from the few posts that you've made so far, you may be a new user of the M3. If that's the case, you may also be making the same mistake as I did when I firt tried to connect the M3 to my PC.
When you install the Korg USB driver tools from the CD provided, you aren't installing the whole driver, just a bit of utility software. You must then run this utility software to actually install the M3 USB Driver. This would explain why it's greyed out too.
I don't have a Mac so I can't give you exact instructions, but if you check out the full instructions in the M3's user manual and follow them to the letter, I'm sure this will solve your problem.
Best of luck
Dave

Hi daveocean,
it's the other way around: I' am not new to the M3 (it's almost one year old now) but new to the MAC.
I know the windows procedure and already wondered if the same procedure might be necessary on the MAC. I'll have to dig out the manual again and have a look for the MAC install procedure.
