Emo usb vs. CE Usb

Hello!

Could anyone help me to choose a usb set i can buy, between Emo-usb.set or Cuneyt-ertac.set (CE)?
Does anyone have a suggestion? Or have tried any of these two set?

Hi Ronny,

You lost me there. Could you explain what you mean by a USB set? Do you mean the new sounds/ styles provided by EMO etc? What sort of music do you want to play? Is there nothing suitable in the factory resources on the Pa?

Rob, he is talking about 2 Turkish USB protected sets. Theres nothing like that on the synth.

I dont know, the Turkish sets are confusing, they are all based around the same
Sounds and pretty much the styles are similar too...its very confusing and i dont
really have a preference when it comes to a Turkish set.

I know what you mean! Almost most of the Turkish, arabic styles today are the same.
I'm not from Turkey my self, so i could need use of little help to choose one that is good.

The one I suggest to you is called Oriental Dreams
(this is their website: http://www.trsample.com)

If I were you I would get the 49MB one, so that you have some space left to add your own samples. It has everything a musician needs to play Turkish, Greek and other Balkan countries music, and it is excellent quality (very professional). The great thing about this USB is that when you load it into PA800 it does not take-up your user and favorite spaces (USER01/02/03.STY, USER01/02/03.PCG, USERDK.PCG)...EVERYTHING is loaded into its own USERs (they modified the OS)...Therefore you will have all of the user and favorite space FREE for your own custom work. It supports the latest version of OS 2.01.

Knowing that they modified the OS would put me right off unless it was something provided by Korg. So presumably the user has to load a new OS version from their USB stick ....

I understand your concern, and of course, before buying anything it is always a good idea to ask questions and to be skeptical. I believe that these people know what they are doing. Same guys can boost your PA800's sampling memory to 128MB but you have to bring it in to their shop (I think it costs about 200Euro). After all, it was the Turkish who first came out with the 16MB sampling card for KORG PA80...It seems that they have a lot of experience in the field.

Hi aj,

That's an interesting option if your Pa800 is out of warranty and you will never take it to a Korg service center. I'm sure Korg would disown a keyboard with modified OS and hacked main board. I think it pretty much locks you into those guys for all future support both for hardware and software. It does seeem they are very highly competent, but will they be there for you in 3 years time when the Pa800 needs some TLC (tender loving care) ?

Personally if I had a Pa800 and wanted more sample RAM I would sell it and buy a Pa2x.

Rob there are still many reasons why one would chose PA800 with hacked mother board over PA2X. One of them, some prefer lighter arrangers that they can easily carry when traveling. Some don't like the waiting period while PA2X loads the samples. It can also be drastically cheaper if you bought your PA800 used.

There is many reasons to go for a hacked PA800 over a PA2X and yes Rob,
they are very supportive and you are not left in the mud, they really know
what they are doing, its not some kids just playng around, it is serious.

Wow, i liked the sounds and styles

I've been to this site before, but i didn't remember that.
but the only thing holding me back is that i want the gundem yayli

Maybe i should buy CE usb and Trsample usb, and combine these two set in to one.

...think about it this way, why would KORG really want to sue them? A lawsuit might cost KORG more than what KORG would receive in return...suing a person in another country, with different laws and different language, is not always a very smart idea. Besides that, having "hackers" around is not always a bad thing, since they are in a way helping sell your products (in this case PA800)...these "hackers" are giving musicians what they want, therefore the musician will chose to buy PA800 instead of buying an Yamaha/Roland/Ketron/etc arranger. Don't get me wrong, I am not on their side, but, sometimes a little bit bad can be good

...and I think there are many other better ways of solving this problem than lawsuit.
