Outputs problem

Post by Sysryn »

Hi, i have a problems with my Trinity outputs.

I use 2 mono jacks.

If there's only 1 plugged in into L/Mono - It works
If there's only 1 plugged into R - It works

BUT, once i plug in both cables L/Mono stops working and i get
sound coming only out of my Right channel...

So each output (1 L/mono, and 2 R) work, but they don't work together

What can be the problem??

Hi,

Unfortunatley this is a common problem in Trinitys.
Ive just replaced the output board on my second trinity.
i suspect your output board is cracked.Korg in their wisdom
didnt secure the outputs to the main chassy. So over time with the weight of leads the board gives up ,some people have managed to fix it
but i just replaced the board.
The problem takes on many guises.
Some people have had left&right channels working but only outputing
mono.
This is only my opinion.Hope it helps.

Cheers Bazz

I fixed my Output probs with my Trinity, all they needed was resoldering,as the sockets had become loose from all those years of unplugging/replugging,this caused the Headphone output to be intermitten too.

I simply resoldered the sockets to make them more sturdy and strong and it worked...I had the same issue with the Prophecy as well and fixed that the same way and it now works fine,I no longer have the Trinity though as I replaced it with the Rack model as I was needing to let a few Synths go due to trying to downsize the setup.Do miss editing on the Synth :(

It wasn't a difficult Job to remedy, probably took me about half hour or so..at least it doesn't require dismantling a stack of Circuitry to get to the output board.

I use only this type of jacks:

I think this will prevent the board from problems.
