130 Needs HD current one is presenting problems

Post by brickboo »

Has anyone had success with any other Hard Drive other than the three mentioned in the Korg 130 's parameter guide?
My HD is giving me problems by unformatting itself.
The three mentioned in the parameter guide are getting harder to find.
Will any 1.2 - 1.3 - 1.4 HD work?

Is it possible that the HD is not connected correctly in the keyboard, or maybe it could be loose?

Thanks for any help,
Boo

I put a 2Gb drive in as I couldn't find anything smaller at the time - probably can't even get those now
Think it was a Toshiba brand but can't remember.
At least you should have more choice nowadays as 2.5" laptop drives are much more common (and cheaper); I was looking for mine many years ago!
It works absolutely fine - it only uses 1Gb of the disc regardless so presume that's a limitation in the i30's firmware.

Not sure about the cause of the problem - you could try reseating the connectors. Is your OS up to date?

I think I have the 2.13 OS. Is there a newer version? Thanks for the input!
