Need advice on buying a used Karma

Post by dlt123 »

Hello all... I have been thinking for some time about getting a used Karma but if my memory serves me right, I remember that Karma had some problems shortly after they were released.

Does anyone have advice or suggestions on what to look for and/or watch out for when buying a used Karma?

Or, is there a link or thread that discusses problems some have had with the Karma?

I definitely want this synth and want to make sure I go about buying a used unit with both eyes open.

Thanks in advance for fielding a wannabe's questions.

Make sure the pitchbender is working – there were reports that the internal connection broke under enthusiastic use. Also, for convenience, try to get one with version 2 of the operating system, although you can do the upgrade from v1 yourself. But some users found it difficult apparently (I had no problem).

Good luck with it!

Kind regards.

Thanks Dave, I'll keep this in mind.
