KORG PAD CONTROL PROBLEM-NO SOUNDS PLAYING

Post by ankle-gristle »

Just got a new KORG padkontrol so im a complete newbie to using it, so obviously im just trying to get some sounds playing through the padkontrol.

I have connected it to the computer and everything seems to be working fine on it, but i cannot get anything to play through it.

The only wire im using is the USB wire.

Im assuming thir is no data or sounds on it, so i just sent some random sounds to the padkontrol for the editor librarian.

at first i got the error message saying that it couldnt be sent to the padkontrol, but after randomly changing my prefrences to USB data was sent to the pad, but still nothing will play.

ANY HELP WOULD BE APPRECIATED

Download MIDIOX to view data streams

Hi!

If you use the free program "MidiOx", you'll be able to watch events coming in to and out of the KPK; then, ensure that your sound card is set to play the midi events. (All, please remember that the KPK doesn't have it's own sound source; it is only the equivalent of a keyboard... It sends data to something else that interprets keypresses into sound events.)
If you open a program to author/edit midi songs and the korg midi port is not available as a "midi in source", it is not properly introduced or available to your system... Look at the driver for the USB, or try the MIDI port as an output instead to isolate the cause.
