Sell the keybeds now !!!
I was talking to our general agent in sweden last week and there is no way of getting the keybeds separately.
When are Korg going to change this strategy?
In a couple of years many keybeds will probably be really worn out, dropped on the ground, hit by a car or something similar...
Is there no way of getting a new keybed then?

Worn out in a couple of years? I hope not!spinoria wrote:In a couple of years many keybeds will probably be really worn out
I still have the first synth I bought (24 years ago), and its keybed still works fine.

M3, Triton Classic, Radias, Motif XS, Alesis Ion

Wow, what did people do before the internet came along...spinoria wrote:I was talking to our general agent in sweden last week and there is no way of getting the keybeds separately.

A keyboard past 5 years is an antique anyway!! Personally I wouldnt expect much from a keyboard past 5 years.. The electronic technology changes so frequently ..and too quick to keep one longer than that. Times have changed since the vintage old 70s and 80s keyboards that were built like indescructible tanks. In comparison, the older synths also cost quite a bit more money than todays keyboards!!

I don't think so! I still use my Triton live, and there are plenty of other bands around that use keyboards that are older than 5 years. Lots of musicians can't afford replacing a $2000 keyboard every time technology makes an advance.sparkie wrote:A keyboard past 5 years is an antique anyway
Real music isn't about sounds or technology; it's about technique and talent.

M3, Triton Classic, Radias, Motif XS, Alesis Ion
Wrong quote
My point is that things break or gets lost sometimes. Maybe there is M3 M users that want to upgrade.
Also there is a quote in the keyboard assembly manual indicating it should be possible to combine keyboards and modules.
This indicates that you should be able change KKS keyboards for the module between the 61 and 88 key for example.
Jerry.... Is there no way Korg would reconsider this?

This instrument is part of the KORG Komponent System.
This versatile system keeps all of the sound generating circuitry,
all of the external connectors and even the power
supply together inside of the sound module (subsequently
referred to as the modsë). In this way, the instrument may
be played with the module section tilted up or lying flat. In
addition, the module section may be completely removed
and operated as an independent tone module, or used with
other KKS products for further convenience.

Amen to that Synthoid! As a matter of fact, I am still using my trusty 10 year old Roland XP60 for my live gigs, though I also have the newer Fantom X series, I take the XP out because it is so second nature for me now.
It's not what you have, but how you use it.

I completely agree... Personally i'd like to buy a 61 for use with my Radias-R. Generally I won't settle for anything less than 61, I found the R-R's standard 41 dissapointing, but I don't really want to buy an M3 at this stage, and if I did i'd probably want the keyboard for the M3.
That's a great lesson, I should learn myself first...but it's great!Synthoid wrote:Real music isn't about sounds or technology; it's about technique and talent.

thats really bad from KORG !Stephen Kay

I wish they did - but the answer is NO. I tried to get one myself (I have a 61 that I like for moving around, but wanted a 73 for the studio), and even *I* couldn't get one.
About the only thing you can do is try to find a guy with a 61 who feels he doesn't need the keyboard and just wants a module.
heres the thread about the keybeds...one of hundreds

even to insert in KKS a Radias Module it is necessary to purchase separately other parts....
a real KKS should be something i can build as it is better for me, a kind of modular workstation
