How Do I Update My Ms2000??

Post by andrew_r »

Hey guys I love my korg ms2000 but the midi sync with my computer programs is s**t. I heard there is a new update that fixes this. I downloaded the new OS, but its in a midi file. How do I put that onto my Korg? and also, does that overwrite my current sounds??? Cause I need them lol

Are you on a PC or a Mac ? Is it an MS2000 or MS2000B ? What OS version do you have already ?

If you're using a PC, Korg have a piece of software that will update the MS2000 OS via MIDI (it's not just a MIDI file) :

For the Mac, it's a different story. There is no official updater, so I provide an unofficial updater that consists of a bunch of sysex files and document explaining how to use them.

Looks like v1.07 did install well on my MS2000, but the documented 'hold MOD-SEQ ON/OFF + 5' while powering up does not seem to display the OS version for confirmation...

... anybody has seen this working ? Or is it displayed really briefly ? I see something flashing by after the 1st KORG-screen, but that's impossible to read.

Or should it perhaps be another button combination ?

Thanks
