Recording on Pa1XPro

Post by Peter Paul »

Hello forum members,

Great forum, great help and great people. What would you recommend for audio recording? Skip computer based audio recording at this time. I am interested in stand alone recorders with audio CD burning capabilities. What do you use and what would you recommend? Thank you.

Hi Peter

I have a Boss BR1600CD studio desk. You can actually get smaller models. This is a great unit and has many mastering features and tools. As an example, I have recorded my band live with cheap nasty mics and then used the Boss BR1600CD to balance and re master everything - fantastic results. This unit will take keyboards/guitars/vocals as direct input if required - also will burn CDs.

Hope this is helpful

Cheers

Hello,

Even if I prefer to work with Pro Tools and Digi 003, when I'm lazy :? I used my Korg D 3200 (32 tracks)...... great results and a lot of effects....if you have not necessary the using of so much tracks I recommend the further model of Korg (1600 MKII ), very easy to use with the touch screen !
Hope this help you...
Have a great day,
JJ

Pete and Daddy, thank you for your suggestions. I like Boss, I just could not make a decision, Boss or something else. I'll buy Boss now.

Try to try the different systems at your music-store.

I own a Korg D-888 and very happy with that.

Thank you for suggestion Detlef. However, D-888 doesn't have CD burner. For some of my projects, I need a workstation able to do everything from A to Z on its own, at the shortest possible time. You need a computer with D-888 to process (edit) data and burn CD's. For me , it is not very convenient to carry around so much equipment, though it's fine at home to use.

I recorded my choir with 4 Kondensator Mics live and did some records in my studio at home - no problems so far. Maybe this guys with that problems should usw other cables of better quality or they have to find the root cause. 4 myself - i use AKG C3000 and some other Mics on that and it works fine. I use this as my live mixer too and i´m totally happy with that - had a Soundcraft FX8 before - and not so happy with that gear.

So on my mind D888 is a very good tool for a very good Price.
And i like this analog style - so it´s very easy 2 use.

The Yamaha is a very good tool too, a little more expensive but a cd-burner on board.

Paul, AW16G has been discontinued, it is AW1600 now, very big unit for workstation of that category. I got the BOSS. Being standalone workstation, it is very convenient unit to do a quick A to Z job with least space, hassles and set ups in certain situations. The BOSS is among workstations something similar KORG is among arrangers, top of the list. Would somebody prove me wrong, please?
