Pa1X Chord Issue
Hi i just recently got a pa1x and am running OS 1.5.
The problem im having is that lets say im holding the Dmin chord on transpose 0, and i move up the transpose up by 3, it will now say Fmin even though i didnt change the position of my fingers. Is there any way to get the screen to say Dmin, instead of switching it everytime i switch a transpose. I had a technics 6500 before and it doesnt switch like it does for me right now, so im not, sure any help is appreciated

Hi Gflow
The PA1Xpro will always display the actual musical chord played (heard). As far as i know, there is no way to get the PA1XPro to show the physical chord played (i.e. ignoring any transposition).
(P.S. I would very strongly recommend that you upgrade your PA1X OS to 3.01 - there are a lot of new great features and a lot of bug fixes - Korg have done a great job with OS 3.01)
Cheers
Pete

Hi Gflow
Please make sure you read the Korg supplied upgrade instructions.
Here are some steps which should help you:-
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Backup all important data first to your hard drive and/or PC
Download the following file to your PC from:-
http://www.korgpa.com/pa_root/software/ ... 301_PC.zip
Unzip this file and you will see 5 files like this:-
Pa1X_os_v301_Dsk1.exe
Pa1X_os_v301_Dsk2.exe
Pa1X_os_v301_Dsk3.exe
Pa1X_os_v301_Dsk4.exe
Pa1X_Upgrade_Procedures.pdf (instructions)
I strongly recommend that you read the "Pa1X_Upgrade_Procedures.pdf" upgrade
instructions in conjunction with the steps below...
Prepare 4 blank diskettes
Insert first diskette and double click Pa1X_os_v301_Dsk1.exe
...this will build diskette 1
Remove the diskette when finished and label it "OS3.01 Disk #1"
Insert second diskette and double click Pa1X_os_v301_Dsk2.exe
...this will build diskette 2
Remove the diskette when finished and label it "OS3.01 Disk #2"
Insert third diskette and double click Pa1X_os_v301_Dsk3.exe
...this will build diskette 3
Remove the diskette when finished and label it "OS3.01 Disk #3"
Insert fourth diskette and double click Pa1X_os_v301_Dsk4.exe
...this will build diskette 4
Remove the diskette when finished and label it "OS3.01 Disk #4"
These four diskettes will be used to build your OS 3.01
Make sure the PA1XPro is powered OFF
Insert OS3.01 Disk #1
Power on PA1XPro
Follow the prompts on the screen
(Note: for diskette #1 you can press the "Intro 1" button
INSTEAD of pressing the "OK" on the screen - this will clear your PA1XPro before
building the new OS)
The remaining 3 diskettes will be prompted for and all you do is simply insert them
when requested.
When finished loading all diskettes, power OFF the PA1XPro.
Remove diskettes and Power ON the PA1XPro
The keyboard should start up but you will not see a "no style" and no sounds - this
is OK.
Now you must load the OS Resources file into the PA1XPro
Download the resources file to your PC from:-
http://www.korgpa.com/pa_root/software/ ... 300_hd.zip
Unzip the file (using folder names) and you will end up with a folder on your PC
called "pa1x_300.bkp"
Connect your PA1XPro to your PC (USB) and copy this folder to your PA1XPro hard
drive.
Disconnect your PA1XPro from your PC
Go to the PA1XPro Disk > Utility page and select “Full Resource
Restore”, then press "Execute".
The hard disk contents will appear..
At this point, select the “pa1x_300.bkp” folder you previously copied to the
hard disk.
At the end of the Restore operation, turn the Pa1X off and then on again.
BEFORE USING THE PA1X, please re-calibrate the Touch Screen (GLOBAL MODE) - OS 3 tends to
require this step.
Please read the Korg upgrade instructions particularly relating to USER SOUNDS
which use SAMPLE RAM (relates to OS 3.01 only).
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
All should be OK.
Cheers & good luck
Pete

I think Forum members gave very good advice regarding OS 3.01 upgrade.
However, I don't think anybody explained whether OS 3.01 has the feature Gflow is looking for, i.e. display of physical chord rather than true musical chord.
Is there such a feature? I can see some application and use for such a feature in live performances.
Sincerely,

I guess Detlef meant: . . ., cause you're actually playing a Fmin in the case of tranposition.wittid wrote:I think not, cause you pressing a Fmin in the case of transposition.
Can't beat Pete on answering the question Gflow asked.karmathanever wrote:The PA1Xpro will always display the actual musical chord played (heard). As far as i know, there is no way to get the PA1XPro to show the physical chord played (i.e. ignoring any transposition).
