Midi file to style creator
Hi to everyone,
I have korg pa700, and I have read about how to make midi file to a style through the 700.
Therefore, I have downloaded a mp3 file and converted to midi. But, when I’m using the USB to read the midi file in the keyboard, the midi file is not showing.
Please advise about what the reason could be ?
Thanks with best regards,

How and with what kind of tools/software did you convert mp3 to midi - and what filetype (.kar, .mid) you get after conversion?kh_kronos wrote: .. have downloaded a mp3 file and converted to midi...

I have done it online, and I have got it mid file. I’ve renamed it and it shows in USB, and when I tried to convert it to style, the display said this file cannot be done for this conversion ( means can’t proceed style )
Best Regards,

Re: Midi file to style creator
For conversion it is recommended to use a Standard MIDI File format 0 (Zero), that is the most common format with all data in one track.kh_kronos wrote: ... have done it online, and I have got it mid file. If the conversion program does not find any features in the sequences with references to certain style elements (variations, fill-ins, endings), it is of course not able to arbitrarily set the markers required for a Style in order to produce a Style, as you expect it to proceed a Style.
*
Alternatively, you can import a standard MIDI file “marker separated” into a style, giving you an SMF with chord variations and style elements separated by that marker.
On Page 304 of Pa1000 manual you will find how to customize a SMF separated by markers and how it can look like. It is created in Cubase, but considering analogies between actual workstations, it will not look much different in other applications (Digital Performer, Logic Pro, Pro Tools, Sonar etc)
*
PS: Converting polyphonic audio to MIDI is very difficult, so there currently is no software to convert MP3 to MIDI. Online programs or Audacity in particular cannot do this at all. Even with advances in AI, there is no dedicated software that can satisfactorily convert polyphonic music to MIDI because it misses or adds notes, detunes pitches, etc.
kind regards

Re: mp3 to melodyne = midi ?
Melodyne is advertised as a tool for intonation correction, for example to shape pitch and vibrato in such a way that the weaknesses of an audio recording disappear, but liveliness, presence and assertiveness are retained.robertocarlo wrote:It seems that the daw melodyne, if it can convert mp3 or wav to midi --- separating the instruments in each channel or track --- I'm still looking at that ---best regards --
Converting an MP3 to a WAV is OK, but converting it to a MIDI makes no sense. MIDI playback devices use different samples, controllers and effect settings for the same instruments. Even instruments they are assigned to tracks, these can hardly be satisfactorily converted from an audio source into MIDI events.
What you read with "how to make midi file to a style" does not convert Mp3 to Midi, but MIDI to style - and that can be done with Pa700, because a style consists of MIDI sequences.
To convert Audio to another Audioformat (Mp3 to WAV) ist possible. Each trial to convert Audio to Midi-Events will always cause a poor pitiful result, even if this is done with very expensive software.
You can break an audio file down into melodic components for MIDI tracks, but this is always a compromise solution that is far from a complete, halfway musically acceptable conversion.

Song master pro does a fairly decent job splitting and converting audio to midi but not all parts are accurate

Audio to MIDI
In the spectrogram, the pitch viewer shows the frequency content, but it is difficult to imagine assigning melody and instrument tracks from pitches and notes.Aripearlmusic wrote:Song master pro does a fairly decent job splitting and converting audio to midi but not all parts are accurate
Converting pitches to MIDI seems uncertain to me and at best only suitable for indicating how the music is played.
kind regards

I saw how melodyne converted audio to midi. but
but now this is very strange - about 3 years ago I saw how a Melodyne technician used the celemony right there... I think it is a process in the same Melodyne daw with editing: (polyphonic audio conversion to several midis tracks) and now it doesn't I have been able to purchase this product and see if this process is a reality - what I do see is that melodyne can make any song an mp3, convert the key, the tempo and solo (it makes a single track of a piano sound from that song) If you import a wav or mp3 audio song into melodyne and do the conversion process it will result in...somewhat confusing maybe two or three midi tracks with a very strange piano sound. Yes, you can understand what song it is...but it is very deficient as a whole and as [sienbenhirter] said, this process is not so beneficial ----I remember that a while ago I saw the melodyne demo ---like the daw I separated in each track (10 drums, 4 voices, 1 piano, 3 guitar, 2 bass) and with that I could work on said song but already converted into a midi sequence of the song in question and thus save a lot of work and etc etc --- but well, I'll see about that and here he told you if that is even possible ---best regards ---

there is an error---
There is an error in the translator ---I have not worked with melodyne yet ---and I have only seen the daw melodine demo 3 years ago --and about working on polyphonic audio editing for several midis tracks, that's what I'm doing investigating if it would be possible to do ---according to the demo I saw --if that was possible to do it ---but I have not tried it yet ----best regards ----
