Problem Exporting Sequence to Logic

Post by MartinC »

Hi, I am living a nightmare trying to record a Sequence made on my Kronos 2 (Gold) 88 into the Logic sequencer for further edition via a USB connexion.

My sequence is made from a program imported into the sequencer using Karma and a drum track.

My computer is a MacBook Pro running on MacOS Ventura. As I read, the Korg USB Driver is no longer needed to connect to the MacBook so it has been uninstalled properly.

SO, I would like to know if what I want to do is possible because by now every attempt was unsuccessful. Here is what I did.

On the Mac side I've created in Logic Pro X a midi track with an external midi instrument. Midi destination>Kronos. The Kronos is recognized and used as my audio interface as well. In the project settings>synchronization, I clicked the first line under destination (NO) and selected Kronos and under clock I ticked the box.

On the Kronos side, in Global Mode I ticked Auto USB and Enable Karma Module to Midi Out and unticked Local control ON and Enable Midi into Karma Module. In the Sequencer Mode under Track Parameters all track status is on both.

At that point I press record in Logic and the sequence is trigged on the Kronos and recorded in Logic on one single track. The playback tough is erratic. What I try next is to expand the region by midi channel. The drum track isn't recorded

And all sorts of weird things happens if I try to play the sequence on the Kronos again. And also I don't have full control on the tracks expanded by midi channel in Logic. If I mute one they all mute. In fact, every change I do on a track is linked to all other tracks.

For my workflow, it is essential that I can export a sequence in a DAW and back to the Kronos. Or at least plays back properly on Logic with the Kronos sounds and that I can edit tracks individually.

Is there anyone who can tell me the way to go?

Thanks for answering
