Program/Bank Switch commands in Triton legacy

Post by drpanties »

OK, please bear with me...Trying to use the Triton software as a replacement for my Triton Rack. The software's response to program change commands has me a bit flummoxed. I'd like to be able to call up the User banks of sounds via MIDI, but experimentation with Bank Switch commands has proved difficult. I can access the Factory Banks using CC 0 and CC 32 (values 0-3), and the EXB-PCM Banks using values 8-16. Whenever I discard the bank switch commands and use just program changes, the softward defaults to Factory Bank 1. Hope that is clear as mud. Can anyone else relate? Thx, P

Are you running Windoes or Mac. I just purchased the $399 Korg Collection. It installed perfectly and neither Ableton Live 10 orSonar Platinum recognizes the VST so I cannot do anything at this time.
PA4x, PA500, NI Komplete Kontrol S88 MK2, Sonar Platinum, Ableton Live 10 Standard, NI Komplete12 Ultimate, EWQL Libraries, Nektar Impact LX88, Focusrite Scarlett 6i6 Gen2, Studiologic MP-117 Pedalboard

I'm running it on a Mac; El Capitan. I run it in standalone, not as a plug in.

Just in case anyone else runs up against this same thing. I hit it also. Here is what I found..

Triton MIDI Mapping ( VST)
7 Bit (14 bit didn't work)
CC0 + CC32 + Program Change ( need three messages initially)
CC0 — once set — only need to change CC32
CC32 — once set — only need to do program change messages for the bank
Program Change MUST follow CC32 for bank to change

CC0: 0
CC32: 0-3 = Factory Banks A-D 8-16 = EXB PCM01-09 32-35 = User A-D
Program Change 0-127

CCO: 120
CC32: 0 = Drums
Program Change 0-127

CC0: 121
CC32: 0-9 = GM - GM(9)
Program Change 0-127

Anything other than these combinations = FACTORY BANK A

Oh man, you're my hero. Tried it, works perfectly. Wonder why they buried the control change values...probably so some schlub like me would chase his tail. How'd you figure it out? - Doc

Hey Doc -

Glad it helped. I cant recall where i dug that up from. Part of it, I figured out through trial and error - but not all. Somewhere, there was a push in the right direction. :) I am just paying it forward.

Cheers & stay safe-

I just wanted to say a huge thanks for providing this information and solution.

Much appreciated!!
