MOTU macOS Catalina drivers released for older hardware
Moderators: Sharp, X-Trade, Pepperpotty, karmathanever
According to MOTU official download page, we have 2 editions of MOTU Audio Installer:
• ver 1.6.83634 ( 2 Jan 2020 ) -> macOS 10.15.x
• ver 1.6.73220 ( 1 Jul 2017 ) -> macOS 10.6.8-10.14.x
I can confirm, that I have just successfully install Catalina Audio Installer ( ver 1.6.83634 ) on macOS Mojave.
The Installer run smoothly, no errors or warnings. I only made sure the previous installation was removed completely. There are some cosmetics changes, and all components are 64-bit.

All works fine, so if you like adventures, give a try.
BE AWARE that on some hardware, the installation might not be successful, each case is different. Do not blame me if something went wrong.

MOTU are the best music tech company for driver support of legacy hardware, period.
I'm using 25 year old MIDI interfaces with MIDI interfaces bought this year - all in the one dAW session and single MOTU driver. It's _really_ impressive - and is not lauded enough throughout the industry.
I mean - there is _no_ direct commercial gain for MOTU in maintaining drivers for end of lifed interfaces - but - that loyalty toward and understanding of their user base means they will receive that loyalty in return from users.
And underneath it all - smart, efficient driver development - so the effort to maintain drivers is probably as straight forward as they can make it. By contrast, companies from M-Audio to Roland hare extremely poor at maintaining legacy equipment - but it that fact is also reflected by the fact that their driver development is of poor quality in the first place. I could type a list of sozens of technical issues with Roland drivers - and indeed M-Audio drivers, that do not arise fro MOTU.
As said - the best company for supporting legacy equipment, bar none. It means you get a comfort zone - a stress fee future with your interface environment into the future.

Hi, thanks for the confirmation. I've been trying to find the June 2020 driver everywhere, but can't. Do you know where I could get it. Thx again for this post!Poseidon wrote:According to MOTU official download page, we have 2 editions of MOTU Audio Installer:
