GLOBAL TRANSPOSE

Post by Bernie9 »

Since it is GLOBAL, am I right in assuming that SONGBOOK will not change the system from player to player off(keyboard only)? I have midi songs transposed different ways for different songs, and it is hard to remember if player is one or not. It says transposed, but may not be.

Hi Bernie

I'm a little confused by your question.

As long as you set the transpose options in GLOBAL mode everything should be stable - SONGBOOK should re-call exactly as you wrote the SONGBOOK entry.

So you can have MP3s/MIDIs transpose or not based on those settings.

Cheers

Thanks Pete. I shall rephrase. I have two midis, one I transpose the key of the player by having it checked in global. I may have another where the key of the playback is OK, but I want to play over it in an easier key. For this one, I un check the player in global with just the keyboard transposed.

Both are saved with the transposition in Songbook. My question was whether the Songbook registration would save each correctly?

look at page 86 ...
you can activate transposition on the players only and then the keyboard will stay the same...
i would play a midi in the key of Bb and transpostion the keys to C .

Yes, that is my example one, but there are times when the player is fine for my vocal range, but in a difficult key to play at the same time. Here, I want to take the check off the player and transpose just the keyboard.

Both work very well, but I have to remember whether the player is checked or not in global. I don't think Songbook changes the global setting on each saved song.

Global transpose

Post by PAPAPETE »

Hello, I too had the same issue. Here's what I did. Simply type "TR" after the song title in your songbook. Then when you bring up that song just go to Global, Tuning, and disable the player box. this will allow only the keyboard to transpose. Hope that makes sense and helps out.
THIS IS NOT A DRESS REHEARSAL!!!

the pa3x had two transpose check boxs,,, one for Global and one for players,,
the players could transpose and the keys would stay unchange , or the keys would transpose and the players would stay ,
korg could add it back again,,

Interesting - My Audya has both too. I guess I will have to mark them in the title as Papapete says.

Thanks guys, I thought I was missing something, but sadly no.
