X50 sounds have a noise in background
I have an x50 that I haven't used in over a year, It was left out and got dusty, and now the volume pot makes scratchy noises and the output also makes noise...what can I clean this with>?
Moving the volume pot a dozen or so times across its full range usually gets rid of the worst of the scratchiness. If the scratchiness is still quite noticeable after doing this, then it's possible there may be a DC offset across the volume pot and this will need further investigation.
Oxidation on the jack plug and socket is also going to cause issues, such as poor audio quality and a scratchiness to the sound, so this needs to be cleaned off using a suitable contact cleanser, like Deoxit, or Servisol Super 10. Spray some on each of the the output jack plugs and plug and unplug them several times, then remove, wipe clean, and repeat a few times.
