Korg PA800 5 KEYS NOT WORKING

Post by Samimsee »

Hi, so I've had the pa800 for about a year now and I had no problems with it. But recently, I was playing a song and in the middle of the song 5 of the keys on the keyboard stopped working. All the other keys work fine but the 5 middle ones still don't make any sounds. Is there a way I can fix this??? Please help!!

Does it not work at all in general or just particularparticularly for that style?

No it doesn't work in any style. For awhile it started working again by itself but now it doesn't work again.

You need to change the rubber contact strips under the keys.
It is better to change them all as the parts are cheap and your keyboard will react the same in all notes..!

Thank You for your reply. Can you please include a link of where I can buy the rubber contact strips and if there's any instructions on how I can replace them please include that too. Thank you so much!

Unfortunately it is unlikely to be the rubber contacts causing this problem. They tend to die one at a time - not in a group. More likely to be some sort of bad electrical contact or burnt-out circuit. I would open it up and jiggle some wires or check nothing has come loose in that section of the keys.
For your info you can buy the Korg parts here:

Good luck,

You are maybe right Reuben.
I have never seen that happen before though at a keyboard that was working absolutely fine and was taken care of...
@Samimsee
I agree with Reuben,check the cable connections before buying anything,just in case!!
