I suppose there's always the half tempo trick.

I understand, these are good points.

It's all a matter of preference, really. There's been nine Electribes out before this new one and only two of them (EMX-1 & ESX-1) had 8 bar patterns. The seven that came before them operated on 4 bar patterns, so in reality, more Electribe users will actually be familiar with 4 rather than 8.

Then you have people like me whom have more experience with the Roland Groovebox series. We had the option of 32 bar patterns, then later 999 bar patterns. To us, even if this new unit had 8 bar patterns, we're still having to adapt to significantly smaller patterns. And that's really the keyword here: learning to adapt.

Trying to create a whole song within a single pattern is already going to be a limitation in itself, regardless of the amount of bars being used. Here's a great demo song someone already did on the new Electribe using about ten different patterns:

He said it was quickly put together after only having the unit for a few days, so imagine how much better it could sound given more time to learn the machine inside out and using more patterns.

I am EXTREMELY IRATE using this box with no Windows! I'm either stuck in a deadly mistake in waiting, or stick looking at useless window options?!

*Window lock into current selection.

Turn a knob to get a moment of what? Don't blink, or you won't know any details. Changing the part selection every time I want to see what is what is enough to have me reshelve the whole Damn box.

With this box, KORG has effectively removed the joy of what makes hardware fun, lumped up what makes computer music abhorrent, and then even threw insult to the injury with impossible navigation of a useless window with no details. Picking an poking with a mouse is more satisfying than crawling my fingernails over frustrations.
Pickles tickle the taste buds while we illuminate the numinous.

The left and right arrows under the value knob will navigate through the attributes of the current part, they're shown on the bottom of the display on the main interface.
