EC5 Pedal question

Post by BR »

I have an EC5 Pedal that I want to use it with my Pa4X.
I press A B C D E buttons with the same pressure and they're responding fine, no delay except the E button assigned to Start/Stop for styles.
The E button not working correctly and sometimes it's not responding at all.

So I was wondering if there is any fix or idea to repair it.
Thanks for any suggestion

wondering

Post by duby2 »

Just wondering did you try to change button E two button a and have it start and stop on button a.

You could always change the buttons back to e if it's the same is e5 switch or something else..

Or I should say just make button A the start and stop button see how that works..

I had same problem - opened up the EC5 and sprayed with an "electronics/circuit board" cleaner - works fine now.

@duby2,
Thanks for the suggestion, Actually I need all of the buttons (A B C D E) and I need to fix the E one.
Thanks anyway

@Pete,
I just ordered a Electronic Cleaner spray.
Hopefully that'll fix it.

Thanks a lot.

EC5 Pedal repair

Post by BR »

I cleaned my EC5 pedal with QD Electronic Cleaner but still the button E not working. Other buttons (A B C D) working fine.

Is there other way to fix it or replacing any part of the button E.
If somebody has any suggestion/info to what part should I replace (part number) and if it's easy to do it by myself, would be very helpful.

Thanks

Did you completely open it up when you applied the cleaner?

I have no idea about "parts" but think it might be cheaper or more economical to buy another one (this is what I did but luckily managed to get my original one working again)

Yes, I opened it by removing all screws outside and inside to apply QD Electronic Cleaner on all parts from A to E.
I'll give another try and will see.

Thanks Pete.

If you tried spraying then the only thing is to replace the switches because they have a certain life cycle then they don't function.

Thanks for the reply.
Do you know the reference for the switches for ordering?

If you ever soldered it's easy, if not, then give it to someone to do.

Sorry to come late to this party , but...
I've had loads of these develop this exact problem and EVERY single one has been the main DIN socket.
I bought a bunch a few years ago, and have changed all of my EC5 sockets.
