PA4X Solo voice stops working in SONG PLAY mode

Post by garystrickland »

Okay, I have a question concerning my new(ish) PA4x. Several times during a live performance while playing along with a midi file in SONG PLAY mode the solo instrument voice I was playing just stopped! When I switched to SOUND mode, it worked fine. But when I went back to SONG PLAY mode the solo voice still wouldn't work. The only fix was to reboot the keyboard. Any thoughts????
Thanks!

Hey Gary

It could be that your MIDI file is making the change to the MIDI channel of the SOUND you are trying to play.
If you are playing UPPER 1 sound it is (by default) MIDI channel 1 - if your MIDI file sends volume/other changes on that channel it may affect the sound.

(Think I'm making sense - it's been a long day!!!!!)

Gary
My response has nothing to do with a Pa4X.

It is to do with your surname.

If you are not into family history you will not know that the family name goes back 1000 years and the ancestral home is Sizergh Castle here in England.

Thanks for the input about the MIDI file making changes. Unfortunately I don't think that is the case since once I reboot everything works as it should. I'm wondering if I inadvertently hit a button and commanded something accidentally?

Strickland surname

Actually, I do have a little knowledge of my family history and have a dream of being able to travel to Cumbria one day (with my kids!) to visit "the old homestead"!
I go online every so often just to look at pictures of the area and Sizergh castle. The director of a movie I was a part of years ago was from Cumbria, which I thought was really cool.

I can understand that a re-start resets the sounds etc...

Does the SOUND drop out every time and does it drop out at the same place in the playing MIDI file?

(Happy to receive the MIDI file and try to re-create this on my PA4X if you wish.)

It actually drops out randomly with different MIDI files. It's only happened two or three times. The MIDI file continues to play as it should...
