Restore set
Hello everybody.
I accidentally deleted all styles and sounds banks from my set before saving and had put alot of work behind all this.
I have a set called RESET.SET that i loaded, that cleans all the styles and performance banks.
So the samples are not lost, only the styles and performances banks.
Is it possible to restore this in anyway?

Nope ...
The only case you can never recover a file in any storage media is when you overwrite it and this is what you have done !
Only an older PCG file (SET) or even BKP file of yours would recover somehow this situation.

There is software that will recover deleted/changed files - some of it is free.
You would need to access the disk directly on a PC/MAC for this.
I have successfully used this but my disclaimer here is that I do not know how the PA4X OS handles file management at that level.
On WINDOWS and MAC you can often successfully recover deleted data particularly if you haven't added much new data on the drive since the deletion.
Cheers

Pete this can work if you delete files manually from disk and from real disk not from mobo memory where resources are written in Pa4X.karmathanever wrote:There is software that will recover deleted/changed files
When you load a SET PCG contents are overwritten so even if they were written in actual SSD then can not be recovered by any mean or method.
Remember that in any system or OS , when you overwrite a file , all bytes of file are overwritten in SSD/HD/flash memory and over 60% of data
information bytes are lost , so we must avoid this action when not completely sure !
A new name of file is wiser in case of such troubleshooting where you can easily restore older even if has been deleted.

Aha!! Thought that might be the case Antony.
Just wasn't sure how he actually "deleted" the data.
Thanks for the reply

Just for the story ...karmathanever wrote:Aha!! Thought that might be the case Antony.

Only if you delete a file from HD you can recover data disassembling HD via PC/Mac , but if file was in 1GB Korg Disk ,
you have no access to motherboard flash memory for restoring operation via USB connection !
