Stereo Output to a single cable

Post by six_feet_under »

Will this wiring work? - I want to output stereo from my Korg Kross1 to my amp, but transmit that in ONE TRS cable. Using a dual TS to single TRS adapter, can I combine the "sleeve" conductors of the Kross1 Left and Right outputs, into the 3 conductor cable where Tip1=Left Channel, Sleeve1=Common Return, Tip2=Right Channel and Sleeve2=Common Return. Will that still maintain stereo, and not "fry" my Kross1 electronics?

I asked Korg Support and got no answer.

I've done that with my Kross.

Nothing blew up.

But I usually just use two TS-TS cables.

Yes, it should work, provided the TS cables are wired as you say. They would normally be described as 1/4" TRS stereo to dual TS mono Y-splitter cable.
