Expression Pedal

Post by frankarico »

I have been using a M-Audio EX-P expression pedal with my Kronos with no problems. I recently updated the firmware to 3.1.3 and the pedal is not working. Has anyone else experienced any problems after updating the firmware?

The Korg expression pedals are very expensive $120- $175.. Can anyone recommend a cheaper alternative?

Most expression pedals should work fine. Unless your pedal itself is broken, if it worked before, it should still work now. Before you buy a new pedal, first confirm that the settings in the Kronos have not changed. Go to your Global P2: Controllers/Scales page and ensure that the "Foot Pedal" setting is not set to OFF or something else that you don't want it to do.

But if you do need a new pedal, probably a good "cheap" pedal is the Nektar NX-P Universal Expression Pedal. It's only $20. But it's been out of stock pretty much everywhere for a while now. The Yamaha and Roland pedals are also good. I've used the Roland EV-5 before. It's solid. The Moog EP-3 pedal also is an option.

The Behringer FCV-100 is solid and works very well.

But yes, as the previous poster said, check all your settings in Global mode first.
