Extension leads, boring subject but are they important ???. What about the thickness and specs to match our korg leads?? The lengths also, home and gigging. Electrical question yes but any evidence of extension leads affecting the performance of our keyboards.
We can keep them very short at home but not so when gigging.
Thanks, any comments please.

Signal leads or power leads? I’m going to assume you mean signal cables.
If you are running unbalanced, I wouldn’t go much beyond 25ft. total distance. Preferably under 15ft.
Balanced, no problem, any distance. But the longer the distance, the better it is to make sure you aren’t running parallel with power cables.
If by extension leads you mean cables you add to your normal cables to give a bit more reach, as long as the connectors are good quality and clean, it still boils down to total distance. Try keeping unbalanced runs as short as you can, if you MUST run well over 30ft. use balanced cables if your gear has balanced outputs, or use a DI box next to the keyboard with short unbalanced cables, then long microphone cables (balanced XLR’s) to the mixer.

By the way, if running unbalanced over a longish cable (20ft+) make sure your keyboard is running at least 80-90% volume as long as it doesn’t distort. The higher the signal, the better the signal/noise ratio.
Better to run balanced over that distance, but if you MUST run unbalanced, jack up the volume!
