Wanted: Faulty / dead Kronos 88 [UK]

Hi All,

Looking to buy one of the above in the UK.

I'm not a trader - I'm looking for a second keyboard on the cheap while taking advantage of my skills as an electrical engineer with audio background.

I am genuine and would strongly prefer payment via cash on collection so there can be no complications. If the distance is too far and postage is viable, we can discuss options that we are both happy with.

Just so you know what you're getting into, the Kronos is not DIY friendly at all - even for an experienced electrical engineer. Although it is based on Intel/Linux, the software is protected and locked to prevent any modification. The components are mostly proprietary, and are expensive if still available at all. Detailed documentation (such as a service manual) is for all practical purposes not available to owners.

I was able to locate a freight-damaged K2 and rebuild in a more portable form. However that was primarily a mechanical endeavor. My aspirations to implement more substantial Kronos enhancements have been thwarted for the reasons above.

Why not buy a 88 key MIDI master keyboard (weighted or not) and use via MIDI?
