PA4x DIRECT mode and save functions

Post by oliv73 »

Hello

I read "direct mode" chapter on manual (p945) and I still don't see how to save DIRECT SET from the interface .
Is there somewhere a "SAVE AS" function for direct SET when new styles / songbooks have been inserted ?
Or the only way is to copy/paste/rename from pa4x file explorer ?

You have to firstly enable the Direct function, its in the Media menu.

Once selected and the navigation pathway is set you can save to it.

If you search the forum you will also find plenty of advice on setting ip and using the Direct feature

NO
DIRECT SETs are direct access to the SET - no loading required, hence no saving allowed (like a SAVE AS)
If you want to back up all your new DIRECT sales etc, then you should COPY the whole SET - you can use the COPY function (tab) in MEDIA mode.

At first I though the direct folder was read only. But this is not the case, if you assign a set to a direct set you can amend or copy to once it has been assigned.

Example you can move, delete, copy, load and rename content from to the now assigned direct set.
