I can not boot Korg pa4x instrument: hard reset is it exist?

i'm very thankfull for your help korg1.
i can use only .upd in my pa4x.

Operating System version 2.0 for the Pa4X and Pa4X MUSIKANT:

Depending on the production lot of your keyboard it accepts the update package with one of these two extensions: “PKG” or “UPD”.
To know which type of package it requires turn it on while pressing and holding INTRO 1. After the calibration procedure the display will ask you to select either “a valid PKG file” or “a valid UPD file”. To avoid any damage download and install only the required file and be sure to follow the instructions provided.

If download is made with slow connection the update package is divided into some files.

...and if you are unsure which to load (UPD or PKG) you can place both on your USB as your PA4X will only recognise the one it needs.

In case mini Local Os update doesn't un-stuck the keyboard,
is there someone who has a reset file for pa4x?
Or if old pa800 format.pkg will work ?

can anyone tell me that is there any software to complete reset the keyboard? i mean without to boot the keyboard. i will be thankfull for any tip!

Contact Support KorgUSA and explain your problem and ask them if they can send you the appropriate file for Pa4X regarding your problem..
I did contact them once about my Pa1000 issue and they sent me the appropriate file.

i know where to find the OS and how to install it, the problem is that, standard OS files doesn't solve the problem.
i need an extra software like (to format the disk) or somthing to complete restore.
the installation succeeded 100% like always, the problem is 1 second before (all lights will be on and the keyboard is ready to use) just freezing and shows the korg picture with OS information like a never ending loop!

I believe Korg has sent a couple of forum members a "reset" package.
I'm not 100% sure but I do remember something coming from Korg to individuals but privately.

Try a new topic requesting that and you might be lucky.

Complete packages are no standard OS-files, but if you believe you need extra software simply contact Korg Support as recommended by BR.

The appropriate file for Pa4x are the ones of mentined in link - these complete packages (like OSv2.0 for Pa4x) contain all sections in scripts of Linux software to format Korg System partitions necessary for complete resetting/formatting (vfat partition, emmc partition, kernel partition, rootfs partition, pcm partition, bkp partition, ram partition).

The operation to use these packages is described as to be only due when the instrument appears ‘frozen’, due to memory corruption or loading of incompatible data. It allows to install the Operating System and the original Factory data in the instrument’s internal memory, by loading that Reset files from an USB storage device (thanks user BR for links to a manual instruction --> http://dealers.korgusa.com/svcfiles/pa_ ... Manual.pdf).

No system reset OS officially published by Korg has yet been found for Pa1000/700/300. Users can get a "CompletePackage" for these models on request, but for Pa4x they are officially available for download from the link addresses as mentioned.

i think that the keyboard is not booting maybe a software problem or maybe i'm wrong.
the only thing that left is, to format the [KORG DISK] maybe that is the problem for freezing the keyboard while booting.
with (OSv2.0 for Pa4x) is that not posible.

I think that if the 2.0 factory reset pkg/upd doesn't fix the problem nothing will fix it (except from a new cpu board)..I may have that 1.1.1 factory reset pkg mentioned earlier somewhere but i don't really know if you can load that after going to 2+ as it doesn't have the pcm files.It does the exact same job as the v2.0 factory reset though so there is no point risking at all...

It looks like an corrupted Ram or cpu malfunction which probably need replacing maybe I'm wrong but either way with pa4x its an hardware task which will need your keyboard open and examin the wires especially the Ram module and Hard Disk.

You can try emailing Korg as suggested above but i don't think you will get any reply soon with all what is going everywhere on world right now. Nothing much you can do by your self just send it when its appropriate to an official Korg repair centre to be safe and let us know the outcome so other members will know what to do if stuck in similar situation. Thank you all guys for the info, this forum is super and every one is ready to help each other’s.
Can anyone tell me where to find the ram and the cpu? I want to open it and check it. I don’t have guarantee anymore.

Yes it fails by bank 2.
The problem began after i worked on a set, i renamed some multi samples and loaded more samples to the set, the max size of samples was reached (15000).

But if you instaled V2 properly it should erase all samples...

By the way,test mode shows the fail msg not for the one you chose to check,but for the next one in the list,for example if it is the rear usb and there is no usb drive in,it will show the message .
