Trinity Floppy fault

I was wondering if anyone has had this problem -
I recently fitted a new floppy drive and tested it okay - I ran a self test on the Trinity (Switch on 5 & Enter). This appears to have caused the floppy drive to fail. it no longer likes my disks - (Not Formatted). I've changed the drive and all is well again.
