Hi,

The maximum number of User Samples that can be loaded in memory (Sample RAM) is 12672.

The maximum number of User Multisamples that can be loaded in Sampling is 12672.

Hi everyone,

If I'm not mistaking this is the same number of allowed samples in Pa3x. Then what is the purpose of having 400Mb (compressed 800Mb) if it won't allow more samples or multisamples?

Thanks

Simply because 12.500 samples x 2 Mb per max. sample size = 25 Gb of required Ram , that none of them can handle !

PA4X RAM memory

Post by hnoormohamed1 »

I was under the impression that I will be able to store more samples with 400 MB RAM.

I still have 240 MB available RAM, but when I load a new sample .wav file and slice it and try to write the file, it gives me an error "Not enough RAM Memory"

Is there a limit of how many PCM can Korg handle.

Please advise

Hi Antony,

Thanks for the explanation.

How does it calculate the loop in the Time Slice? Is every single slice considered as a separate Sample?

Thanks again!

PCM means "pulse code modulation" and there is no meaning in the question of how many PCM can Pa4X handle !
Sample data when saved in raw format , are divided in 99 parts for saving purposes no matter of their number ,
so the right question of how many samples can Pa4X handle and save , has been already answered !

Every time sliced sample is considered as a standalone sample when saved but the limitation here is not
the partial slices but the number of them that I currently do not remeber the limit number , so in this case ,
do not use loops over 8 measures especially when loops are stereo !
Also if someone is wasting sampler just for creating percussion loops then he can easily run out of
sample positions in any PaSeries !

Hope this helps

Post by hnoormohamed1 »

I am still confused as to why my system is showing 245 MB Available RAM Memory but when I try to write a new sample of 4 measure, it gives me an error of "Not Enough RAM "

Am I doing something wrong?

Please advise

Hi Hanif,

It's the same principle as in an elevator. You have max weight (RAM) and max number of person allowed (Samples).

Message do not have to do with actual Ram capacity but the fact that file you're trying to slice is already larger than
the max supported size per sample that is 2 Mb.
The error message in both cases is the same !

EDIT : laurance you have a PM

Hi Anthony,

My apologie if this is Out of topic

But, I recognise that you have the Montage in you’r signature

So, i need to know if

- The ethnic percussions are any good as in tyros premium Expansion or are they as good as the built in ROM samples ?

- Do you plan to make your Library compatible with the montage ?
