Finally, a mod for the WD that enables sequencing!

I don't understand exactly what he's done there but would love to do that. His explanation is not enough.

Anyone got any clues on how exactly to do this?

Basically he cuts into a trigger cable (interrupts the direct signal to motherboard)
then leads the trigger signal out to a jack
connected to Octatrack
octatrack now plays samples triggered by WD piezos

now back from octatrack (with OT samples) to WD motherboard
and into the WD algoritm
now you can hear the octatrack samples as trigger signals
together with the WD algo sound
at the WD line out (...and processs it as usual ...or)

WD normal lineout back to octatrack (input 3??? ) to use OTs FX
Im not especially familiar with OT and its Ins and Outs

I called that audio sequencing the Wavedrum ... years ago.
done similar things with a Handsonic

It looks like the sensors plug into the motherboard and you can just pull the plug out and connect your phono socket to the plug? He says "soldered" but also that it's easy to get back to normal.... What is that RCA socket box he's using?

back to normal ?
connect one of the out RCAs with the corresponding in RCA
and you have a normal WD again-

or plug an equalizer to boost between out and in
you will have a better sensitivity and way more expressive sounds ...

it seems he connected to the piezos via these connectors at the cable ,
but the returns to the mainboard need to be soldered
unless you have a second pair of connectors and a crimp tool

do you solder ?

I don't have enough soldering skill or tools to solder/ de-solder on a PCB.

In that photo I can see two white sockets and two white connectors that look like they were pulled out of those sockets , and he soldered his RCAs on those connectors? so It looks like there is no soldering on the motherboard needed?

thats correct .they come from head piezo (2 contacts)
and from rim piezeo (3 contacts)

thats to RCA out

from RCA in .... solder or a second set of connectors (believe me ...what else ?? )
solder contacts are at the bottom of the board directly to the feet of the sockets
easy , no smd in that area.
go to a repair shop and let it be done for a tenner , where is the problem ?
