PA4X saving style settings
Hi all. Okay I'm using my new PA4X. After I find the right style and set it up like I want, how do I save these settings so I can recall it? Thanx

Other method.
Choose your style on main screen, than press trk select button, than Set your style elements how you like, for example effects, gains and etc. Than touch triangle sign on the right side of screen above. Touch " write current style setting" and press ok. From now on, the style will come how you edited and saved it. Enjoy bro...

There might well be a few ways but SONGBOOK is really the key and the main focus of the PA4X

..most likely because you are working with a protected factory style... you can unlock this in GLOBAL mode if you want to modify factory stylesWhen I press the arrow the page that appears shows only "Write kbd set to library" the other selections are grayed out.
Cheers

My friend.
1st. Press global than menu than mode preference than media page below than deactivate "factory" it must be emty
Now. Go back main screen
Than choose style which you want to edit
Than press TRK SEL button near record button
Than edit your styles
Than touch arrow above, now you see grey colors are turned black
Now edit your styles and write current stylsettings
You can set keyboard set 1234,
Set your upper 123 sounds than press shirf long and same time pres keyboardswt 1 or 2 or others according yo variation.
After all write current styles settings.
From now on it will come back how you eeited it.
This is weird, I know, but there are two different concepts regarding Styles. The Style that you touch on your screen are the different sets of rhythms. When the button light for "Style to Kbd set" is off, you are only changing the rhythm, your voices all remain the same. When this button light is on, and you touch the Style box, then you are changing not just the rhythm style, you are also changing all of your voices to compliment your rhythm choice. When this light is blinking, the keyboard voices will also change when you choose a new Variation (buttons 1-4) - those voice changes will correspond to whatever voices are assigned to the "kbd Set" (lower left of screen).griffin2003 wrote:When I press the arrow the page that appears shows only "Write kbd set to library" the other selections are grayed out.
Press the button for "Style to Kbd set" until the light is off. Make sure you have your voices set and your rhythm style set.
There are two steps to saving both your rhythm and voice settings in a style. First, place your keyboard in "Style Play" mode. Save your Kbd library by using the pull-down menu - PAY ATTENTION where you are saving it. Make sure you don't over-write something you have already saved - there is NO protection from over-writing something that is already there.
Next, you save everything like you would a "song", even if you haven't recorded anything. Click on the "Songbook" button and choose: "Write" - you will see that you are writing your style to a song. When the song is saved, you will see that it shows as a "STY" file. This is how you are going to access this "song style" now on.
To easily find your song style in your songbook, I suggest you start all of your song names with 1-
That way, when you go to sort the songbook by song name, your songs are always on top.

I agree - don't edit the Factory Styles. In addition, when you save to the songbook, you can also rename your keyboard sets (i.e. the names of the 1-4 keyboards on the screen), but I've learned, you have to do it one at a time on the "Write" screen, the middle section "Keyboard Set" Check the second item under "All" - then you can save each keyboard library to 1, 2, 3 or 4 as it appears on the screen.mstodola wrote:I've changed the factory styles myself but it comes with a cost. If you want your Pa4x to remain predictable and stable, I would recommend you stick with Songbook. I myself have gone back to factory default and Songbook for this reason.
However, you can copy the Factory Styles and save them to your User or Direct tabs, then edit as ebuzer52 described.

... griffin2003 is talking about the screen drop-down menu here - "greyed out" items is purely indicating that the style is write-protected (factory protection is on)k_sac wrote:This is weird..........
