At any rate, you can go to DISK mode and locate the FACTORY folder. Load the FACTORY ALL.PCG. That should fill your banks with over 2,000 programs and hundreds of combis.
Thanks for the reply. The box was opened and I was told that was all. It did appear to be untouched but you may be onto something. Anyway I will try to follow your much appreciated advice. Do I need to be hooked up to the internet or be using CD's or anything with your suggestion? I will try looking at the menu now.
Ok I found factory and then hit open, but then i dont' see FACTORY ALL.PCG anywhere i just see different variations of preload.

Also the Factory file under disc is size 0 (has no data)

Is this a big problem?

What files do you see with the .PCG extension?

It has Preload.PCG which is 25 m and I did either load or reload that and I still only have the 31 presets. I can go into the bank which have sounds. But I only have the 31 presets.

It did come with 3 Dvd's which appear to be factory default discs. I want to avoid really screw it up though.

After many years and many workstations, I've finally gotten a Kronos.
Kronos-61, updated to 3.1.

It took me a long time to save up and find one I could afford.

Sorry to sound like such a noob, but wow!

I've had Trinity, Triton Rack, M3 Motif XS, Roland FA-06, but none of them, could come up such an "HD" sound. I was playing around with pads and sweeps, never have I heard such a wide and gigantic, crystal sound stage, so much depth. I was like my studio was tuned into a giant pair of IEMs.

Right now I've got it paired with a Yamaha EX5 and a KX88 controller.

Again, sorry for such a basic post. I'm just so enthralled by my new (old) "toy".. I had to talk about it.

Looking forward to more exploration.
hi Vidguy, couldn't agree more; after owning an M1 and Korg T2 when they came out way back, I have drifted into other synths like various Roland offerings (the JV1080, and later on the Fantom, Juno G, before Yamaha Motif ES (a nice board), and currently using Yamaha MOXF8 and Roland FA-06 - a pleasant surprise realizing just how far Korg have pushed the envelope with my recently acquired (not new) Kronos X; nothing I've ever owned compares with it; now in the process of offloading my MOXF8 - not that its not a superb instrument in its own right at the price point, but the depth and attention to providing close to every option you could ask for on the Kronos is simply staggering...

With all due respect, this sounds like you are greatly misunderstanding something. There are 128 sounds in each bank, and there are many banks.

Is it possible you are not scrolling to the next 32, and then the next 32 after that? There's a scroll bar on the bottom of the screen (or is it the side, not looking at it right now).
