Clearing sequence data, all tracks at once
So I want to create a new pattern, based on the sounds of a factory pattern.
How do I achieve this?
I want to clear all the motion and sequence data, but I have only found a way to do this one part at a time.
It will be a pain to do this operation 16 times.
Surely there is a better way? Can i copy just the sounds of a pattern to a new init pattern?
thx, i'm really struggling here.

Yes, you can copy the sound of a part FROM another pattern INTO the pattern that you're in if you see what I mean, slightly klunky way of doing it but once you get used to it it's okay- just make sure you're copying the part sound and not the part!

Sorry but there isn't a way to do that, frustrating I know... If I may though, why would you want to use the generic stuff they include when with some practice and effort you can create WAY better and original sounds yourself?

your are right, i've been considering this myself. I'm new to the instrument. I thought I would take it one step at a time, start by using the factory sounds & kits to create my own patterns.BubbleTrailsMusic wrote:Sorry but there isn't a way to do that, frustrating I know... But I realised that the result sounds to similar to the factory pattern anyway, even after changing the sequence.

Yeah when I first bought my E2 I had fun "playing" the presets. It's a good way to learn how to manipulate the machine. Let me know if you have any questions man, I've found a lot of really cool ways to make build-ups, breakdowns, etc. Most of my tracks are an average of 10 patterns.
On my latest track that I haven't released yet I somehow figured out how to take Strings and mangle it so hard that it sounds like a synth robot talking (I've actually had to show people that it really isn't a vocal sample, crazy...). There are a lot more crazy things you can do that people don't give it credit for- and just like with most creation in music, a lot of the best stuff happens by accident.
Once you get comfortable you'll find that you can make WAYYYY sicker stuff than anything they included. Only now that I've mastered the E2, I need the Sampler to include my piano, sax, and guitar playing.... The quest never ends!

Thanks for the motivational post. It's been quite educational dissecting the factory patterns, soloing parts, playing each part on the pads etc to figure out how the patterns and sounds are constructed. Looking forward to spending some time digging into the E2.
I checked-out your stuff on youtube and soundcloud and it was great. How much E2 is there on your soundcloud?
cheers

Every track on my soundcloud is entirely E2. Live jamming, no mastering or editing. Recorded direct from my mixer. I got some new ones in the works that put those to shame.
