Pa500 Chord Output feature

Post by Willfhenley »

In the GLOBAL MIDI OUT Settings for Channels 1-16, "Chord" is one of the assignable outs. I believe, from the vague reference in the manual, that this is the DECODED CHORD. With that said, does anyone know the format or structure of the transmitted chord?

I use my PA to drive my DAW (Kontakt 5) and use samples which are far superior to the factory pcm rom library. I'm currently in the process of writing a software based arranger but if this "Chord Out" function truly passes the resolved chord, the mammoth chord array I'm currently building, could be replaced with a much simpler lookup table. I realize this is truly getting into "nuts & bolts" of the PA but if there are any engineering types in the forum who know, answers would be greatly appreciated.
