Pads are actually the easiest thing to program, on any synth. The Kronos ships with more pads than you could ever use.
A good useful pad should be "dark", with some chorus effect added, maybe a bit of delay...that's about it. Airy, heavily modulated, "everything-going-on-at-once" pads don't work well in a supportive
role because they call too much attention to themselves and don't blend with other instruments. For live shows, there should never be reverb on a pad - or any other program or combi. The room/hall you are performing in supplies the reverb.
