Tuning gone mad!
Can anyone help please! Havent played my Kronos for a month....a sin I know. I turned it on, started to play and noticed that at the end of a reverb "tail" there was a slight sharpening of whaterever I was playing! Both on single notes and whole chords!
The tuning actually went up, just as if it was some sort of modulation/lfo gone mad.
It was only just noticeable but it was definately happening.
I turned all effects off....and its a lot less noticeable on a dry note...piano..synth brass...the sound doesnt matter it is actually tuning itself up at the very end of the note for a millisecond and the reverb just emphasises it!
Has anyone else experienced this. If so please help, this is really upsetting.
Any help would be much appreciated.
Niven.

Hmmm, my kronos2 is in for repair right now because it was tuning itself up every once in a while. I found that it only happened to patches that were set to bend with the pitch bender. So I took it in for repair figuring that the stick needs to be replaced. Mine would tune up and stay up until i changed patches though. Yours is only the end of every note?

Hi,
thanks for replying.
KronosCray thanks for the video link but my problem is not the same as that of the video....I think. SanderXpander I too thought of trying the pianos and the notes rise at the very end just as you lift your fingers off the keys.
I think its some sort of modulation that is so low that you cant hear it while block chords are being played, but once the mass of sound dies away a definate cyclic modulation can be heard, just for a second...i.e at the end of its cycle?
I know absolutely nothing about Korgs AMS set up. Ive tried to understand it but ive failed. Im an old school OBXA type whos had the luxury of plenty of dials to work with and cant get my head around most aspects of the internals of the Kronos...but I love it and fear Im going to lose all the patches I created because of this problem. I can see me asking for advice on how to completely reload my kronos back to its factory default if I cant work this problem out.
Again many thanks for replying

A couple of ideas to think about.
The Kronos keybed transmits release velocity, maybe there's some parameter affected by that. See if releasing the keys at different rates affects how it sharpens. Also, can you use midi out or usb to control an external synth or virtual instrument?.. to see if it's the sound generation or keybed/controller issue. The external midi control, may not be conclusive, but it might help gather some facts,

Whenever a Korg synth is randomly going out of tune the pitchbend circuit board is usually faulty. There are online videos showing how to fix this well-documented pitchbend problem. If you are comfortable doing the repair yourself it's much cheaper if you could get the part number for just the circuit board; otherwise you'll need to replace the whole pitchbend assembly.

Thanks ErnstDabest, but this is always happening, there's nothing random...the very, very subtle sharpening of a note is a identical each time.
I think it might have something to do with a release command that's gone mad?
Unfortunately I dont have a clue where to start to sort it out.
Im quite lost with this one, but thanks for replying.
