Sorry about this one - I've used the search function but no luck.
As a temporary measure I want to use my Kronos as a straight forward midi controller into Logic pro on my IMac so that it plays my Kontact instruments.
(Obviously I use Kronos normally as well !!)
With my Kurzweil I simply had a midi cable going from midi out into my focus rite interface (midi in) and it worked with no problem. Same with Fantom X
Obviously I have tried with Kronos but no luck.
So I just want the Kronos to act as a simple master controller so that if I play 6 notes on it, those 6 notes then play whatever Kontact instrument is up and running within Logic
Just want the quickest way to do this please (or any way!!)

Make sure you install the Kronos USB drivers for OSX, then hook up a USB cable from your Kronos to your Mac.
Launch Logic and create a new track, the window shown below will pop up - make sure you select "External MIDI", and that the output is "Kronos Sound - All" (or whatever MIDI channel you want to work with).
Click "Create", and you're done. Kronos will now play your AU plugins.

Won't that output MIDI from Logic to the Kronos? I use External MIDI in Logic when I want the Kronos to play MIDI notes I've drawn in Logic.
If you have the Korg USB driver installed it should be just a case of connecting the USB cable, creating a software instrument track in Logic and making sure that track is highlighted when you play notes on the Kronos. That's all I have to do anyway.

I was a guitar player until I got a Monotron...
I think this is the order, Korg Monotron, Monotribe, MicroSampler, MicroKorg XL+, MS20 Mini, SQ1, Kronos 2 61...

It should work, just as it did with the others.. check to see that the selectedMacca wrote:With my Kurzweil I simply had a midi cable going from midi out into my focus rite interface (midi in) and it worked with no problem. Same with Fantom X

midi channel is setup to send out midi to an external device -- that's all.
