Korg M1 factory sounds only show in EDIT PROG

Post by Easter3 »

Hi,
I hope someone can help with this. I have been all over the internet, done battery change, Midi-ox, transfer with interface to M1, checked to be sure that proper settings are enabled, downloaded original factory sounds from several different sites in case of file problem, and still can`t see 00-universe, when I reboot my M1. It still says I00 Init Prog. When I go into Edit Prog and scroll through that menu, I start to see the other sounds, etc. What am I doing wrong??? I am truly stumped. Any help is GREATLY appreciated!!!!! :D

Let's start with something basic - please name some of the "other sounds" you're seeing.

Hi, sorry for resurrecting this, but it's the closest I can come to finding something that matches my problem.

I've been using my M1 in sequence mode for ages, but decided to create combi's for multitimbral work now I'm not really using the M1's sequencer.
This was fine until the other day I decided to change the combi. The M1 started to flash a bunch of different combi names before settling on one, which wasn't the one that was assigned to that combi slot. Same was happening with the programs. Also trying to edit the sounds would produce random pages with different button pushes.

I went back to sequencer mode and all the prog patches were in their correct slots and I was able to reliably select a prog via the track parameter page (button 4).

Aside that, it's playing the sounds correctly with no noise of distortion. I've considered re-initialising it and reloading the factory sound, but have a feeling that is not the problem, as I think the sequencer would also be suffering if that were the case.

Cheers,
Mark
