korg PA500 ORT (SSD FAILURE)

Post by cristhepharaoh »

hello everyone
please help me
I have a korg PA 500 ORT and it worked fine since I had it then one day out of nowhere it just stopped working and every time I turn it on it says
" SSD MEDIA ERROR format ssd press media to confirm "
and so I do press media then another message comes on
" NAND formated USB enabled " !!?!?!
then that's it nothing happens
for a long time I tried to fix it did every way mentioned in this forum or at least I think .. nothing worked
I downloaded the .pkg file from korg.com unzipped it >> copied it on an sd card 2GB >> turned on the korg .. sd inside pressing .. inro 1 and the same message comes on !!!
Later I tried to turn it on while pressing style play and media , it gave me a menu with commands and I pressed pad4 for formating and it gave this
"SSD Failure " which is appearently nobody has ever came across
please help me
am so desperate and helpless right now

I am not too familiar with the PA500 but can you try a full OS restore?
I can send you the OS 1.1.9 files if you cannot get them.

Cheers

As long as the forum has an agreement with Korg that the details of the "hidden" system diagnostic menu must never be disclosed as long
everyone with will be helpless in case of " SSD MEDIA ERROR format ssd press media to confirm " occurs.

I think this agreement is a shame.
kind regards

I think this forum is Moderated Independently, is not part of Korg Corporations, I just read this few days ago on one of the topic.
System Diagnostic menu?? You talking about Style Play + Media holding while boot ??

Hi cristhepharaoh

Here are the OS, Resources and full factory reset files.
PLEASE remember I have never owned a PA500 and so I am passing these on to you for you to try at your own risk - they are the genuine Korg PA500 files downloaded from the KorgPA website.
There are PDF instruction guides included.

Hope it all works out well for you.
The link for the zip file is:- http://www.mediafire.com/download/67ksp ... _files.zip (about 48MB)

Cheers

Hi cristhepharaoh,

Unfortunately its not a software issue infact its hardware failure that is about your mother board but NOT CPU BOARD. So change only your M.B It is the one and only working solution of your problem. SSD MEDIA ERROR problem relates only to Korg pa series mother boards bcoz SSD chip is mounted on Korg pa motherboard.

Thanks
