Mute/Unmute Combi tracks with SW1/SW2?

Post by AdDeRoo »

I have been going through the manuals and the forum archive, but can't really figure out how to do this

Lets say I have a Combi and in channels 4 and 5 I have a sounds muted. I would like to assign SW1 or SW2 so I can immediately mute/unmute a few tracks in the Combi.

Does anybody know how to do this?

I know I can do it with the volume pedal, and have only those tracks be affected by the volume pedal, but would like to explore if this is possible with SW1/2 as well, since live I don't take the volume pedal.

Kind of a workaround is to route those parts through a preamp IFX with the switch assigned to wet/dry.

Why don't you use KARMA Scenes to switch timbres on/off?

When the Timbre/Track control is active, the top row of buttons toggles the mute status of tracks 1-8, and of tracks 9-16 when the Timbre/Track button is pressed a second time.

Explore some combi with that feature as int-C 068 Oboe & Orchestra. There the upper part of the keyboard is assigned to Oboe and sw2 turn it on/off.

Oboe is set to timbres 4 and 5. Go to PLAY > CTRL VIEW/Effect... sw2 is set to cc#81

In Tab IFX > Routing 1 you can see those timbres are set to ifx 1 chained to ifx2 and ifx3

Ifx3 is set to stereo limiter and it does the trick.

In Ifx > ifx 1-12 tab ifx3 at the left you will find source assigned to sw2 mod cc#81. With Amount parameter you can set the limiter.
0 will do nothing
-63 will mute completely the sound..
Any value between them will reduce the volume accordingly so you can toglee between two different volumes with sw2.
Values higher than 0 will increase the volume... be careful with the highest values ☺

Hope this helps.

This works perfectly for my usage! Thanks! I can put any number of tracks on/off with SW1 an SW2, which I need for live perfomance

Thanks again
