Repost: Not getting ANY response on Guitar Mode, Help!
Is Guitar Mode in the pa-series arrangers for recording MIDI tracks or can you use this mode to play a guitar sound as well? I like the idea of being able to strum instead of a 'fake' guitar chord that plays chord notes like a piano. The Manual is not clear on this, as it keeps talking about recording a track but then also refers to 'playing', so I don't know -- not owning a Korg Arranger at this time. I've never seen a Korg video, in English, showing the "Guitar Mode" feature. Assistance appreciated, thanks.
Would any of you consider using Guitar Mode in a performance?

Thanks for your reply. Neither was in English, but video 2 was great to watch for laying down a drum track.smstome wrote:http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=GYJL4z5aVEQtkarlmann wrote:Is Guitar Mode in the pa-series arrangers for recording MIDI tracks or can you use this mode to play a guitar sound as well? Question remains: Would anyone use Guitar Mode during an actual performance?

I dont think so. Guitar mode is only for style use, and accessible only in style record mode.
Re: Repost: Not getting ANY response on Guitar Mode, Help!
So, let me get this straight, if you are playing a guitar sound on the 4x, 3x, 900, etc, you do NOT get a 'Strum', (available in Guitar Mode) you get a piano-chord sound instead -- even though the strum feature is right there in the keyboard? If so, why isn't anyone complaining about this? Don't Keyboard-Guitar-Soloists care? I would!striphio wrote:tkarlmann wrote:Question remains: Would anyone use Guitar Mode during an actual performance?

I think any serious live guitar playing of your keyboard needs something like this:

I want one NOW!! (might have to wait till Christmas...)

Agreed, but...
I like the idea of the Jamstick, but I have no Apple products. Also, if I pay $4k for a keyboard advertising "Natural Sounds" it does not seem to me to be a stretch to have the Guitar sounds actually 'Strum'.Reuben wrote:I think any serious live guitar playing of your keyboard needs something like this:

I'm pretty sure you can use guitar mode strumming in Pads too.

Guitar Mode with 4 buttons?
Help me out here: aren't "Pads" just the four buttons? When I look at the way you achieve a strum on the 4x, you require the entire keyboard! The lowest octave selects the strum type, the next octave up selects single note types, and the highest octave plays the squeaks/rubs/anomalies for guitar. The rest of the keyboard plays the sounds. (See Manual Page 256-261) How do I do all that with four buttons?Thoraldus wrote:I'm pretty sure you can use guitar mode strumming in Pads too.

Each button (PAD) could be a different strum pattern.tkarlmann wrote:Help me out here: aren't "Pads" just the four buttons?
