Help opening the case on pa3x.

Post by RC »

Can anyone send me the directions so I can open up the Pa3x keyboard. The warranty is over and I need to get inside. My screen went blank again for the third time since I have owned it ( approx. 3 years). I think their is a loose connection somewhere. I want to get inside and reset the connectors by pulling them apart and then back together one at a time. The last time this happened I took it to a authorized repair shop. I plugged it in to show him what it was doing and it was working. He kept it for two weeks and the screen never went blank. He said he reseated the wires. I brought it home and it has lasted 6 months and the screen went blank again. a New display screen is about 400.00 plus labor. I would really appreciate it if anyone could help. Thanks

This was the instruction I got it from this forum and it was helpful oepining my 76-key Pa3x, good luck!

I am not recommending home repairs (due to warranty considerations) however if you want to do it yourself you need to know which screws to remove.
These are the screws you need to remove to enable you to swing open the entire top. This applies to the 61 key Pa3x (not sure about the 76).
On Rear: 3 bottom-most screws of the top black section.
Underneath: 8 black screws but not those holding the hatches.
On sides: 2 end silver allen screws (not the middle one) and 2 bottom black screws (leave the side black screw near the rear - this is the hinge screw).
If you want to buy the battery before you open it up it is a CR2032 button battery.
Hope it goes well if you decide to do this.
