I bought my Kronos-2 2nd hand. Unfortunately, the seller did not have the restore-DVDs any more
The German support told me to wait until they are available in the support/download-area on the Korg website. As they are still not available: does anybody know when it will be available or if there is another source for downloading? The only images you can download is for Kronos Classic and Kronos X
disks that originally shipped with the first version of Kronos and KronosX
I need the images for the new Kronos (= Kronos 2 or Kronos 2015). According to Korg Germany, these images should also be in that section in future - but until now, they aren't...
You don't need those dvd's unless you are in a very serious trouble, such as you are in need of replacing your hdd, or somehow your sample data is corrupt or deleted etc. There is no way a user can mess the operating system files, this is not a pc. Only files you need for a factory reset are preload.*** files that reside in the Factory directory. Make a backup of your system onto usb flash disk and restore that backup to have a fresh set of sounds again. Or obtain those files from a fellow, they are very small and portable. So dont be upset that you dont have the dvds. The only procedure that you cannot carry out without the dvds is boot from dvd, however, I am sure original Kronos or Kronos x dvds will boot a Kronos 2 just fine and get you going.
Korg KronosX73, Kurzweil PC3K6, Roland V-Synth GT, Kawai K5000S, Waldorf Blofeld, Novation Ultranova, Behringer Neutron, Yamaha HS80M, Boss Micro BR80, Zoom H6, Sony PCM D100, Tascam DP32SD, Mackie 1202VLZ4, Zoom MS-70CDR, Rode NT1, Sony MDR 7506.

And in the worst case scenario, assuming that the Kronos X dvd's work ok, you should be able to upgrade to OS 3 from the download.
