I still remember when I had my Kronos already a year, and a friend wanted to record some demo-sounds into a wav file directly at the instrument: I just didn't find the way to do it, by browsing through the manual.
Only after that incident, after more research and some trial and error, I found out what you describe in your tutorial.
yes, i use it quite a lot to record ideas on a usb drive.
There are a lot of tips and tricks on my to do list, these were all questions or suggestions on my Facebook channel or through email. So in the future i will describe features like:
- using general midi files and how to modify them when the sound has to be replaced
- how to setup a combi with splits and layering for live use
- how to control VSTs or Effects with the kronos
- how to use a wav file effect or vocal in a combi for live use
- sustain only certain parts of a combi (filtering system)
- how to make the most out of AMS
- how to use drumloops in a combi
- how to create your own drum set based on samples
- how to add drumpatterns to the existing collection
- how to use KARMA with other hardware synths or VST's
- etc.......
there are over 50 of these kind of tricks on my list which probably a lot of people know how to do but also quite a few have no clue where to find it in the kronos. For those i'm trying to explain it in the new tips and tricks series.
