Volca Sample reverb quality?

Post by TechnoMusic »

Hi there I'm in the process of waiting for the electribe sample to come on the market (what a wait) and was wondering about buying a volca smaple in the meantime.

It seems like a really fun box but since I tend to do quite ambient/minimal and reverb heavy stuff I was wondering how good the quality of the built in reverb is? Will I be able toget quite spacious washes with it? Can you adjust the reverb length to be quite long or is it more or less pre set?

Thanks in advance guys.

Its not very good unfortunately. Its like you can't hear it so you turn it up then you can't hear anything else. No sweet spot.

I use it as an effect to drop into but would not keep it in the mix for the duration of a pattern.

Its somewhat servicable if used judiciously. The only adjustable parameter is wet/dry, though.

Iv'e been using my Sample with an external TC Electronic M300 via my mixers send/return. Is the way to go, the internal reverb is hardly useable.
