I've looked at filezila, but there are reports that it's open to malware etc. and can present some problems.

Am about to check the following....CyberDuck....Secure FTP Client....FireFTP.....ClassicFTP.....OneButtonFTP.
Anyone have opinons on them ?

Or....any other ones I could use ?

With Thanks.
I made the mistake of downloading filezila and spent quite a while removing the malware.Hopefully all is cleaned, thanks to malware bytes.

We use WSFTP at school and it is a freeware ftp program , works well.

I purchased the trendnet usb network dongle for $10, built an Ethernet crossover cable, and manually assigned an IP address to the Kronos.

My laptop has wireless(on my home network) and an internal nic 9assigned to the same subnet range as the kronos).

The kronos plugs into my laptop Ethernet port and I can ftp while still retaining a network connection to my home network.

Last month I decided to add memory and bigger SSD drive on my Kronos 88 and during the procedure I noticed the Ethernet and VGA ports on the Intel motherboard. I decided to use them by doing a simple no-cost modification. So yesterday, I added an Ethernet port on my Kronos which works perfectly!

just did this too-works great! simple/clean

Hi all :-) This question may be more for the Mac folks....
Why can't (or can it?) the Kronos just talk to a MacBook Pro directly
with wifi wireless if: there is a small router (like an Asus or whatever) inside the Kronos, transmitting to the MacBook with its Ad Hoc wifi wireless (airport) network creation abilities on? Can't the communication occur direct like that without having to use one's home wireless router? The MacBook Pro is certainly capable of creating a fairly decent local wifi signal. Never understood in all these Kronos and wifi related posts, why is had to revolve around the use of a
home wifi router. At least in the Macs case. Any help please ? :-)

Would be interesting to have such facility....but not everyone owns or uses a mac.
Many have pc set ups,so it would be a limited application etc.

However, the Ethernet route works for both platforms and serves its purpose.

In an ideal world.....perhaps things could be different.... :)

Best Wishes.

i am reposting this because pedro5 did not answer the question at all, all he did was make a statement with his opinion about macs, but no help towards the initial question whatsoever.

man Pedro5.... if you cannot contribute nicely to the initial question, why are you even bothering to post at all? I posted on here because there are alot of very intelligent Korg Kronos owners on here both with Macs and PC's. And probably quite a few with wifi experience. You apparently don't fall in any of those categories so Please go find someone else's post to bother, Thanks.

As the original author for this topic I thought it would be courteous to offer a response, together with an opinion.

The question is rhetorical by nature anyway,so it's bound to generate indirect comments, we all have equal status in sharing thoughts, ideas and suggestions, even if expected answers aren't forthcoming.
(Many do simply overlook or disregard my contributions, despite good intention, without any need to rebuff them, which is an acceptable prerogative.)

Re-posting a duplicate as a quote with added third person comments can inevitably invite a similar style of reply.

As for personal insults…perhaps there's a need to examine attitude and apply proper etiquette on a forum.

Good luck with your quest.

Best Wishes.

Just out interest, this is a copy of a pm from Synthmandan.

"i don't need your good luck or best wishes....
i just think you were trying to be an asshole from the very beginning and
not at all helpful. Hopefully someone does the same thing to you
when you are really seeking an intelligent answer to one
of your questions."

Don't really understand where I went wrong....??

pedro5, you will see where you went wrong next time you post
anything to the forum.
